Stanhope Primary School

Class 3H

Welcome to Class 3H!

We make up half of the Year 3 cohort here at Stanhope. We are the newest members to upper school but we are settling in well and starting to find our way around the school! We are also very lucky to be in a brand new classroom this year, just off the library.

In our class, there are 23 children- 8 girls and 15 boys. Our class teacher is Miss Hewitt and our teaching assistants are Emma and Toni. In the mornings, Emma and Toni help us with our Maths and English and in the afternoons they support us with interventions. We work closely with the rest of Year 3, who are in class 3M.

Our topic for this term is Ancient Egypt. We will be learning all about the famous pyramids, hieroglyphics and mummies! In Maths, we are focussing on practising our 3, 4 and 8 times tables. We are also going to start learning how to multiply and divide using the formal methods. In English lessons, we are focussing on the book 'The Tunnel' by Anthony Browne. We will also be practicing our spelling, handwriting and reading comprehension every week.

All of Year 3 will be going swimming every Tuesday morning for the whole year. Also, P.E will be on Wednesday afternoons.

We have a very exciting term ahead of us and we can't wait to get stuck in! Thank you for visiting our class page.

Thank you to everyone who shared in our Remembrance Day Learning - beautiful poppies created and displayed around school to help us think about this special day.
