Stanhope Primary School

Class 3H

Welcome to Class 3H!

We make up half of the Year 3 cohort here at Stanhope. We are the newest members to upper school but we are settling in well and starting to find our way around the school! We are also very lucky to be in a brand new classroom this year, just off the library.

In our class, there are 23 children- 8 girls and 15 boys. Our class teacher is Miss Hewitt and our teaching assistants are Emma and Toni. In the mornings, Emma and Toni help us with our Maths and English and in the afternoons they support us with interventions. We work closely with the rest of Year 3, who are in class 3M.

Our topic for this term is Amazing Animals and Hilarious Humans. We will be learning all about diet, skeletons and fossils! In Maths we are starting to learn about 3 digit numbers and how to add and subtract these together using the column method. We are also going to be learning our 4 and 8 times tables. In English lessons, we will be writing character descriptions and we will be practicing our spelling, handwriting and reading comprehension every week.

All of Year 3 will be going swimming every Tuesday morning for the whole year. P.E will be on Wednesday afternoons.

We have a very exciting year ahead of us and we can't wait to get stuck in! Thank you for visiting our class page.

This week is Dyslexia Awareness Week and we will be holding a No Pens Day on Friday! It is also Big Me Week - where we will be looking at different careers and children will get to dress up as what they want to be when they are older at the end of the week!
