Stanhope Nursery 2018

Our nursery currently has 13 children that attend in the mornings and 18 in the afternoon.

We are a play based Nursery and provide opportunities for all children to explore and learn independently. We aim to have two carpet sessions per day when we share stories, sing songs and learn collaboratively. The Nursery teacher is Mrs Wendy Jaques and our full time Teaching Assistant is Louisa. Kay is also a Teaching Assistant during the morning sessions and on a Thursday afternoon.

Shared Reading Session - 5th October 2018

Today we were lucky enough to have a shared reading session with Miss Robyns year 5 class. Each child was read a different story by a child from 5R and then everyone sat together and we all shared the story 'We're going on a Bear Hunt' together. We had a lovely morning and aim to repeat this at least once a term.

Autumn Term 2018

We have had an amazing start to the new school year. We have welcomed back some children that know Nursery very well and we have welcomed lots of new starters. This has been a wonderful time for all of the children. Everyone has settled in very nicely and everyone has made new friends.

Our current theme is 'Under the Sea' and during the Autumn term we will be looking at Goose Fair, Diwali, Autumn, Bonfire night and Christmas. We are looking forward to the Autumn term and will keep you updated on any news and events.
