Reading For Pleasure
Here at Stanhope, we believe in creating an environment that encourages children to become life long readers. Reading has a endless range of benefits including widening vocabulary, improving general knowledge, giving children an enriched imagination and more importantly being a source of true enjoyment. At Stanhope, we aim to provide children with the opportunity to read for their own enjoyment through hearing stories read to them, independent reading, book talk time and sharing/receiving book recommendations. We hope to create a reading community at Stanhope where children learn the value of reading and develop a true love for reading. Together, we can provide children with the opportunity to share their love for reading both in school and at home.
