Nurture at Stanhope

We have fantastic staff at Stanhope and Nurture opportunities are timetabled throughout the week across each term to best support children in their personal development.

We offer a range of Nurture provision:

  • ELSA 1:2:1 support

  • Lego Therapy

  • Forest School activities

Forest schools and forest school activities provide a child-centred, experiential learning environment where children engage in play, exploration, and supported risk-taking. This approach promotes growth across multiple domains—social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual—by allowing learners to interact directly with nature and take ownership of their learning experiences. Long-term; regular sessions help children develop resilience, creativity, and independence while building a meaningful connection to the natural world.

  • Curriculum Kitchen Cooking

As part of our commitment to ensuring children acquire life long skills to support them maintain a healthy lifestyle, we also run very popular cooking nurture groups in our curriculum kitchen!
