What are Stanhope's Attendance Targets and why?
We want our children at Stanhope Primary and Nursery School to enjoy coming to school.
Our attendance ‘floor target’ is 96%, but we aim for 100%.
Research has proven that there is a significant link between school attendance and academic performance and success.
Absence from school is often the greatest single cause of poor performance and achievement.
We asked our children why they thought it was important to attend school regularly and arrive on time here is what they said:
"Coming to school every day means I don't miss anything."
"I like being on time to start the day with the rest of the class."
"Being on time means I am there to find out what we will be doing that day."
"I like having time to say hello to my friends and put my things away without rushing."
"Arriving late makes me feel unsettled."
REMEMBER – Regular attendance is necessary for success in school. Help ensure that your child has the best opportunity for success by making sure he/she is in school every day.
