A big well done to all of our lovely children who have started school and settled in so well. We are so proud of each and every child and are delighted to welcome all of you lovely families into our Stanhope community.
This half term we will be learning about traditional tales and we have lots of exciting things planned.
If you have any questions, concerns or would just like to chat, please feel free to come into our classroom and speak to a member of staff.

Hello everybody.
Hope you are all okay and you have enjoyed your morning.
A big thank you to children who have sent me messages/photos. I love to see all the wonderful things you have been doing and to keep in touch.
I have attached a weekly overview that may support some of you when trying to teach your little ones at home. It is only a guideline so please don't feel like you have to complete everything on the list. It is also important that you follow the interests of your own child.
I have suggested to do ONE Reading, Writing, Maths and Topic activity each day. It would be helpful to dedicate a bit of time for daily Phonics too. Your child can practise their phase 2 (orange) and phase 3 (purple) sounds using the sound mats provided in your packs. Your child can do their work in the blank exercise books we provided, or use paper if they prefer.
I am aware that some of you might be feeling anxious and have your own work to do from home so please, please do not stress about completing the school work I send.
The most important thing is that your child feels safe, secure and settled with you at home so please make lots of time to play and have stories together too.
I will continue to update on here each day and aim to send you a weekly overview every Sunday.
Take care everyone xxx
Letter to children
Dear children,
Usually after the weekend, we come back to school on Monday.
Your parents will have already explained that tomorrow may be a little different and you might be staying at home.
Whilst you are at home, your parents will be helping you to learn and practise some of those wonderful things that we have learned at school. I will be helping your parents by giving them ideas and putting them on our Dojo class story. Please listen very carefully to your parents and try really hard, just like you do at school.
Please don’t forget to do lots of playing too. You can play with your toys, play a board game, bake a cake, read a book, draw, paint, build and run around the garden!
Your parents can post pictures of you playing, send photos of your drawings and writing and send me messages too!
I can’t wait to see them all!
Please remember, listen to your parents, help them with jobs at home, phone your friends and family to see how they are and remember to be kind to each other.
Hopefully this will only be for a short while and we will be back together soon. Before you know it, we will be back at school, learning, playing and having fun together.
Sending lots of love and big hugs to you all.
Miss Walter xxx
