Spring 2

Our topic this half term is Animal Kingdoms.

Our big question is: “Would you see a meerkat at the North Pole?”

We will be:

  • discovering what living things have in common;
  • exploring the school grounds looking for things that are living, dead or never lived;
  • learning about habitats and how animals adapt to them;
  • what animals eat (herbivores, omnivores and carnivores);
  • food chains and
  • life cycles.

In maths we will be learning about shape, fractions, time and continuing to learn our times tables.

By the end of Year 2 the children should know X and ÷ facts for the 2X, 3X, 5X and 10X tables.

Finally, in English we will be writing non-chronological reports.

We are looking forward to showing families round our school, ready for the September 2024 Reception intake. You can book a visit by contacting the school office on 0115 9553440.
