The Learning Journey Question for this week is 'Are all materials attracted to a magnet?'
Monday - How do magnets work? Does the magnet need to be right next to the object it is going to attract to or does a magnet work at a distance? Look at the picture below and read the children's ideas. Who do you agree with?

Tuesday - Scrapyard Challenge
Read through the PowerPoint and watch the video clip below. Choose 10 different items from around your house and put them into a pile like they are in a scrapyard. Use a magnet to sort the magnets at your scrapyard into 2 piles (magnetic and non-magnetic). Then record your results in the table and answer the questions at the bottom of the sheet.
